Dear Visitor, Welcome to my website and thank you for allowing me to serve you in the U.S. House of Representatives since 2001. One of the most rewarding aspects of being your Congressman has been the opportunity to meet with so many of you. We live in a country that started as a great experiment in freedom and self-government. Over the past three hundred eighty some years, America has been built by courageous people one dream at a time, by noble people with noble plans, who established "One nation under God." They came from many countries and at considerable risk and have left their own unique contributions in this "land of opportunity." Now we live in a vast, prosperous, and beautiful land that can well be a blessing to people the world over, and it is our duty to share this freedom with others, as well as to preserve it for our children. As our forefathers, we must also have the courage to follow the individual dreams in our own hearts as we build on the time-tested principles that made this the freest and most prosperous civilization in the world. I look forward to seeing familiar faces and meeting more of you in the coming years. Thank you for standing with me as we continue to preserve and advance our heritage of freedom and self-government.
Respectfully,
Missouri District 2
A Note of Explanation About This WebSiteThis website is supported by "Todd Akin for Congress, Inc." which is our campaign organization. It is paid for by private contributions and not at taxpayers' expense. There is another website which is supported by our Missouri District 2 Congressional Office in Washington, DC. It is paid for out of government funds from our federal office. The federal or official website contains a number of 1-minute speeches by Congressman Akin from the floor of the US Congress. The subjects of the speeches vary and may be of interest. Http://www.akin.house.gov   is the official web address. Campaign Finance Law rightly requires a strict separation of public dollars and campaign dollars and does not allow either site to provide a "hot link" to the other. |
